New and exciting project news at BR&P!
The City of Branson West is currently constructing a municipal airport for their community and this project will be the main terminal building for the airport. Awarded to our design/build team of Butler.Rosenbury & Partners, Inc. and Bales Construction Co., Inc., the project consists of a 3,100 square foot terminal building attached to a 10,000 square foot hangar for storing airplanes. A 14 foot tall masonry entry portal says “Welcome” to visitors as they approach the one-story terminal and hangar building under a covered canopy. On the exterior, red window frames and blue glazing create color accents within the metal building wall panel system. Inside, the main waiting hall has contemporary, high-end finishes, such as a continuous clear-stain wood accent wall opposite a continuous glass window wall overlooking the runway, granite and wood veneer millwork, 18x18 porcelain floor tile with 24x24 carpet tile accents and curvilinear plank metal ceiling systems suspended from the exposed structure above. Typical terminal spaces are provided including offices, conference room, retail space, customer service, flight plan/business center, pilot lounge, workout room, pilot snooze, kitchen, public restrooms and private restrooms with showers. A fuel-resistant resinous flooring system is provided throughout the airplane hangar. The hangar floor drains to a central trench which connects to an underground oil and grease interceptor. All occupied spaces have temperature sensors for individual control. As required for an airport facility, multiple exterior lights around the building perimeter have been provided for safety and security. A complete security system and video surveillance are also included. This project is a turn-key project in that furniture and equipment have also been included in the project so that upon project completion, the building is ready for owner occupancy. Also, BR&P was recently awarded a project for an addition to the current building for enhanced science facilities at MSU’s Greenwood Laboratory School in Springfield. The project budget is $1 million (approximately), and construction will likely begin in the summer of 2010.
